Just Keep Diving 7/12/15

Today was my second and last day dive. I know that I am going to regret spending so much money on diving but hey, carpe diem right? Also, I have no idea when I am going to be able to afford to dive again so I thought, why not? We have arranged to with the resort that we are also going on a night dive and they are going to charge us as one day because we are already broke college kids. Also when are you ever going to get to dive with such cool people. I have seriously starting considering interning at a program like this or mabe this exact one because not only do you learn how to be a dive master but you also learn tons and tons about the speceis that you get to swim around with. Today we are going on on 2 dives at two different dive sites: Pelican Three (this was about 80ft max depth, wall dive) and Hurricane Rocks (a shallower dive than the first in a typically turbulent area that we happened to get lucky at. The two dives are incomparable because they were just so different from each other. I liked the wall dive because it was so massive and deep and everything just felt huge and magnificent as you wended your way in and out of the tunnels while Hurricane Rocks was gorgeous in its own right with this really cool narrow-ish path that you just had to relax in and let the momentum form the waves above you push you forward and drag you back. There was not point in fighting it and hey, you get to conserve some energy that you might need later! Highlights on the dives were lion fish again (two of which Adam speared), a giant ray, midnight parrotfish, a monstrous trumpet fish, and the schools of fish that we got to swim with and around. Pictures don't do it justice because the GoPro that we use to shoot does not add the red to a lot of the colors. In case you didn't know, the first color that you lose the ability to see is red because water absorbs red the fastest so when you take a picture a lot of stuff ends up looking a slimy green blue which it's not. Anyways....

Oh wait! Did I mention Grace is now dive certified and these were her first two dives?

This little guy got spared, but I will say that they do need to go. They are horribly invasive and a huge detriment in many ways.

So yeah, that was the highlight of my day. The rest of it was consumed with lots of trying and failing to do work and instead napping all over the place. It was another beautiful day in paradise.

Hang loose!
